The Website:
Hello fellow engineers! I’ve created this website for two reasons: 1) to document my experience and lessons learned over my geotechnical engineering journey, and 2) to practice website hosting and building. My intent is to create weekly short posts on a wide variety of civil and geotechnical engineering topics ranging from my experience in construction, consulting, and as an owner/operator. I will cover both hard skills, such as technical how-to’s and calculation examples, and soft skills, such as report writing and career planning. Thank you for taking the time to peruse my website and I look forward to interacting with you in the years to come!
The Author:
I am a geotechnical project engineer at Kleinfelder, Inc. out of their Laguna Hills, CA office. I have been practicing civil and geotechnical engineering for nine years after graduating from University of California, Los Angeles, with my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Since that time, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work all over the state of California for construction companies, consulting companies, and as part of government agencies. Over the last five years I have specialized in dams and dam safety engineering. It is a fascinating intersection of geotechnical, civil, water resources, and structural engineering and I cannot wait to share all that I have learned over my career with you.

To Gigi and Grandpa Butch, I miss and love you both with all my heart.
